12/15/2022: In approximately 30 days the Barry County Road Commission, through it’s contractor will begin removing trees, brush, and limbs from the county right of way in Orangeville township. All trees, brush and limbs 15″ and under will be removed within 10 feet of the shoulder of the road and will be removed up to a height of 25 feet above the roadway. Dead limbs higher than 25 feet will also be removed when hanging over the roadway. All dead trees within the right of way will be removed where possible.
As the landowner, you may keep the wood by contacting us at the number below. In these cases, your tree will be dropped and pushed onto your property just outside the right of way. If you do NOT contact us, your wood will be chipped and/or hauled away. Wood chips may be disposed of in non-mowed areas of the county right of ways. If you are interested in picking up additional wood, please contact us at the number below. Subdivision parcels will not have live trees removed other than saplings within 5 feet of the edge of the shoulder, trimming will occur as necessary. If you would like to do any of this yourself, please do so within the next 30 days.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
