Thank you email to the Orangeville Fire Department for the outstanding job at Bay Pointe incident
Good morning Supervisor Rook and Chief Ribble, I wanted to make you aware of how well our Orangeville Fire Department performed recently at BayPointe Inn. On February 12, 2021 around 6 PM we had a 4 inch pipe from our attic fire protection system burst unexpectedly dumping several thousand gallons of water into our hotel building. I arrived at the property about 6:30 to see multiple units and numerous firefighters on site. As I walked into a flooded building I saw exceptional perseverance and teamwork in action from these dedicated professionals. Under the leadership that night of Assistant Chief Mike Swift everything was obviously well under control. After making sure our staff and guests were safely out of the building they were rapidly dispersing thousands of gallons of water out the entrance of the building and out of several rooms that were flooded to minimize damage to our property. Additionally they were removing ceiling tiles that were filling up with water from the ceiling and pushing them out the door to maximize guest safety and minimize further damage to our structure. They all clearly demonstrated extreme concern and care for our building. We are blessed to live in such an outstanding community next door to these volunteers. We are forever grateful for the perseverance and commitment of this well trained team of professionals! Please pass on our gratitude and appreciation to these dedicated men and women!
Thank you. Mike Powers
