Notice of Special Assessment District Public Hearing Fawn Lake Aquatic Plant Control

To: The residents and property owners of the township of orangeville, Barry county, michigan and any other interested persons:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to petitions received by the Township signed by the record owners of land constituting more than 50% of the total land area in the proposed special assessment district, the Township Board of Orangeville as authorized by PA 188 of 1954, as amended, proposes to establish an aquatic plant control project (with associated activities) in Fawn Lake in Orangeville Township as more particularly described below and to create a separate special assessment district for the recovery of the costs thereof by special assessment against the properties benefited.

Notice of Public Accuracy Test Rescheduled for October 7, 2026

PUBLIC NOTICE – ORANGEVILLE TOWNSHIP NOVEMBER 3, 2026 GENERAL ELECTION PUBLIC ACCURACY TEST RESCHEDULED September 18, 2026

The public accuracy test for the November 3, 2026 general election has been rescheduled to October 7, 2026.  It was previously scheduled for September 21, 2026.

CURRENT ELECTION INSPECTORS WITH CERTIFICATIONS EXPIRING IN 2026 MAY COMPLETE AN ONLINE RECERTIFICATION COURSE — EMAIL: ELECTIONS@BARRYCOUNTY.ORG TO REGISTER! 

Be part of the team that helps protect the integrity of our elections and serves voters across Barry County. Election Inspectors play a vital role in our democracy, and we invite you to join us for one of our upcoming training sessions. 

 Who Can Serve as an Election Inspector? 

To serve as an Election Inspector in Michigan, you must: 

  • Be at least 16 years of age 
  • Be a registered voter in Michigan (not required for 16- and 17-year-olds serving as Election Inspectors) 
  • Be able to read and write English 
  • Not be a challenger, candidate, member of a candidate’s immediate family, or a member of the local election commission for the election being conducted 

No previous election experience is required.
