Important Announcement Regarding Township Transfer Station

The current contract for maintaining the transfer station expires April 1, 2026. The contractor has notified the township he is unable to renew his contract. This notice is to inform you the Township Board has reached a critical decision regarding the future operation of the Township Transfer Station. This only pertains to the transfer station (dump), not the recycling program.

After extensive review of operational costs, regulatory requirements, infrastructure needs, and available service models, the Board has
determined that the current structure is no longer sustainable without significant changes. At this time, previously explored options are no longer viable, and difficult decisions must be made regarding the future of this service.

Before taking final action, the Board is seeking public input. We believe it is important for residents to understand the financial and operational realities involved and to share their perspectives on how the Township should proceed.
