NOTICE OF PUBLIC ACCURACY TESTING FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF BARRY COUNTY, STATE OF MICHIGAN:
REGISTRATION: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Orangeville Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Orangeville Township Clerk, the Office of the County Clerk, a Secretary of State branch office or other designated state agency; or can use the Online Voter Registration System at www.Michigan.gov/vote.
Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com.
The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is MONDAY, July 20,2026. (MCL 168.497)
After July 20, 2026, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof ofresidency up to and including through the day of election (MCL 168.492) at the
Orangeville Clerk’s office at the following times:

PUBLIC ACCURACY TESTING:
The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the program and the computer that will be used to tabulate the results of the election have been prepared in accordance with the law. Public Accuracy Testing will take place at Orangeville Twp on Monday, June 22, 2026 @ 10 am.

Please take notice that the following proposals will appear on the ballot:
TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL: PROPOSAL FOR RENEWAL OF FIRE EQUIPMENT MILLAGE
Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Orangeville Township, of up to 0.75 mills ($0.75 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for five years, 2027 through 2031 inclusive, for the purposes of purchase of fire equipment and apparatus, raising an estimated $184,435.31 in the first year that the millage is levied?
MARTIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OPERATING MILLAGE PROPOSAL OPERATING MILLAGE PROPOSAL
This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its full revenue per pupil foundation allowance and restores millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Martin Public Schools, Allegan and Barry Counties, Michigan, be renewed by 17.8708 mills ($17.8708 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 4 years, 2027 to 2030, inclusive, and also be increased by .5 mill ($0.50 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 4 years, 2027 to 2030, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2027 is approximately $925,958 (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2026 levy and a restoration of millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963)?
PLAINWELL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL
This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance. The remaining 1.6352 mills are only available to be levied to restore millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and will only be levied to the extent necessary to restore that reduction.
Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Plainwell Community Schools, Allegan, Kalamazoo and Barry Counties, Michigan, be renewed by 19.6352 mills ($19.6352 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2027 to 2036, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2027 is approximately $3,070,242 (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2026 tax levy)?
