Resolution 1123 Establishment Of Early Voting Site

WHEREAS, the Orangeville Township Board under authority granted in Public Act 81 of 2023, that the location of the Orangeville Township early voting site for all federal and statewide election dates will be the following.

AND WHEREAS, a site may also serve as an early voting site for additional election dates if approved by the Orangeville Township Board.

WHEREAS, all qualified electors in Orangeville Township have the right to mark a ballot and deposit the ballot in a tabulator beginning the second Saturday before an election and ending the Sunday before the election, and any additional days prior to the second Saturday before an election that the Orangeville Township Board designates.  Early voting will be available at the early voting site from the hours of 9 am to 5 pm each day.  Hours subject to change if designated by the Orangeville Township Election Commission with prior notice given to electors.

At a meeting of the Orangeville Township Board held on October 3, 2023

WHEREAS, the Orangeville Township Board in compliance with the Michigan Legislature and Michigan Bureau of Elections and,

WHEREAS, the Orangeville Township Board authorizes the Election Commission to conduct Early Voting as per the State of Michigan and Bureau of Election guidelines at the polling location of Orangeville Township, at which the address is 7350 Lindsey Rd., Plainwell, Michigan.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orangeville Township Board establishes an Early Voting Plan subject to the guidelines of the State of Michigan and Bureau of Elections to be submitted to the Barry County Clerk prior to state and federal elections held at said polling location.

This special election is for Martin Public School Bond Proposal: Shall Martin Public Schools, Allegan and Barry Counties, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Seventeen Million One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($17,150,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, in one or more series, for the purpose of: erecting, furnishing, and equipping an addition to a school building, remodeling, including security improvements to, furnishing and refurnishing, and equipping and re-equipping school buildings; acquiring and installing instructional technology and instructional technology equipment for school buildings; purchasing school buses; and equipping, developing, and improving playgrounds, parking area, and sites?

THE POLLS of said election will be open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. 7350 LINDSEY RD., PLAINWELL ORANGEVILLE TOWNSHIP HALL

Electors who wish to receive an Absentee Voter Ballot by mail may submit an AV application for the November 7, 2023 Special Election by Friday, November 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. In addition to regular office hours the clerk will be in the office Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday, November 6th, 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for qualified electors wishing to obtain an absentee ballot. NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF BARRY COUNTY Notice is hereby given that the Barry County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for the following:

Case Number: SP-8-2023 Stephannie Castle (Applicant), Stephannie & Jeffery Castle (Property Owner)

Location: 1913 Star School Rd, in Section 21 of Hastings Township.

Purpose: Requesting a special use permit to operate a day care – group pursuant to Article 23, Section 2324 in the RR (Rural Residential) zoning district.

Case Number: SP-1-2022 – Michigan Materials & Aggregate Co. (Applicant/Property Owner)

Location: Miller Road, Delton, in Section 25 of Orangeville Township.

Purpose: Requesting a special use permit to operate a mine for sand and gravel pursuant to Article 23, Section 2351 in the RR (Rural Residential) zoning district.

Site inspections of the above described property will be completed by the Planning Commission members before the hearing.
