Notice of Change to Absentee Voter Application
CHANGE IS COMING TO THE PERMANENT ABSENTEE APPLICATION LIST!
The permanent absentee application list is being phased out with the 2024 elections. In its place will be the permanent mail ballot list. If you select the permanent mail ballot box in the top right-hand corner of your application, you will automatically be mailed a ballot for any election you are eligible to vote in. Selecting this box means you will no longer need to fill out the absentee application to receive an absentee ballot. If you choose not to select the permanent mail box, after the 2024 elections you can still request an absentee ballot. But will need to request that ballot either online, by mail, or at the clerk’s office by filling out an absentee application for the upcoming election.
Selecting the permanent mail ballot will give you some other options to vote. You may return the ballot by mail, drop box or to the clerk’s office as an absentee ballot. You may also vote this ballot in person during the early voting period or on election day. Simply bring your ballot with you to the polls and cast that ballot. If you choose not to vote in a specific election, you can simply destroy the ballot and it will show in the system as not returned.
